Prologue...

What is the Attic? and what torments and assorted depravities went on in that dark secret place? Well in order to begin to understand that, I have to tell you about my story, and how I became the princess of the attic and eventually learned how to turn the tables on those who gave the pain to so many.  So here goes...

My name is Natalie, that's me up there with my step dad behind me, in happier days. I am a simple shy girl when people meet me;  There's a reason for that shyness, when I was growing up my Mother moved us around a lot because she was an aide to a very powerful government official.  Jumping school to school was tough and I never really got attached to anyone, and even when I did, it wouldn't last because I was quickly moved to yet another school.  My mother was a single mom because of the very reason I was bounced around a lot, no man could keep her attention long enough for her to stay in one place for very long...until she met Klaus.  Klaus was a German immigrant with a clothing store of a different nature, it was a designer leather shop that catered to those in the lifestyle and only people in that lifestyle that could afford his designs.  My mom fell head over heels for him, although for the life of me I never understood why.  They spent a lot of time together and I never saw my mother happier even though it was impossible to gauge whether Klaus was happy or not.  My mother took more time off her work and together they traveled and decided to move in with each other in my mothers house, Klaus left his business in Europe to his niece and sister, while he courted my mother.  It was around this time my mother became very ill.  Even though their romance was short it seemed to fill her with a happiness that helped her through a terrible battle with that dreaded illness cancer.  Klaus was nothing short of incredible to her and although his manner was stern and sometimes cold to me he was a perfect gentleman to her.  He was a very conservative man despite his line of clothing and he seemed to take an interest in my educational well being.  My mother left her career and decided to spend the rest of her days securing my future.  I had always had a love of psychology so I decided early that I would enter that field.  It meant that I had to go away to a big city where I would be alone.  My mother was very ill at this time so I put it off (much to the dismay of Klaus) for another year.  My mother never married Klaus but he had in effect become my step father in many ways.  My mother passed a few months later and Klaus was extremely considerate in my mourning, but as time wore on he became more persistent on my education.  Trusting him completely I agreed to move that plan in my life forward.  The only problem was that Klaus had his business to attend to in Europe and I had no where to stay in the city where I was to go to school.  School term was approaching quick and I was beginning to get worried when Klaus told me it was all going to be fine.  He had explained I would stay with a couple that he knew in the city that had bought some of his clothing in the past and had even designed a few things for him personally.  I asked if they were designers and he said no, he told me they were 'enthusiasts'.  Knowing the type of clothing and garments Klaus sold, I was a little concerned about these people that I would be living with.  Klaus assured me they were quiet reserved people and that I would be able to focus on my studies there.  The house I would stay in was a grand home of mansion proportions and that I would be very comfortable there.  It would cost me nothing as Klaus was calling in a favor from these people at a greatly reduced rent, and besides he claimed they didn't need the money anyway because the husband of the wife was a retired mechanical engineer.  When I heard he was an engineer, my mind eased a lot more.  So it was all settled I was off to school a few months later.  I remember the first time I had seen and met the Robertson's, I had spoken to them several times on the phone but never met them, my first exposure to their appearance was more than a little strange and perhaps creepy as well.

Next I meet the Robertson's
